Looking for an overseas pre-wedding destination shoot location? With the many gorgeous photoshoots we are privy to, we decided to help compile a list of stunning overseas locations that's popular and trending amongst our newlywed clients who took their photoshoots in these beautiful destinations.
Austria
Austria as a pre-wedding destination was somewhere we never considered before, until we came across this especially quaint lake town Hallstat in several of our newlyweds photos. From the pictures, it is clear that the little town has it's unique charms be it in spring or winter (where it's entirely cloaked in snow). If you are looking for pre-wedding photos that look like you just stepped out of a fairytale, this is the perfect destination.
Florence
Florence is the perfect pre-wedding destination for any history and art buff. Beautiful olden architecture abound in the streets, hidden alleyways filled with character (and sometimes adorned with street art), bustling streets and more, there is plenty of backdrop choices for your photoshoot.
Popular photo spots you might want to consider:
Piazza Michelangelo (overlooking the skyline of Florence), Fiume Arno, The Duomo, Ponte Vecchio,
Ponte alle Trinita, Calcio della Rose, the Rose Garden, Uffizi Piazza & Gallery, Pitti Palace & Boboli Gardens.
Iceland
This is definitely a spot for the adventurous (and unafraid of the cold) bride and groom. All the feedback we have heard from clients who took their pre-wedding shoot in Iceland is about how unbelievably beautiful the place is, and how freaking cold it was to shoot there. If you are willing to grin and bear with the weather for the mind-blowing landscapes, Iceland is the place to be!
Popular photo spots you might want to consider:
Inside a glacier (glacier tours), Thorufoss (Þórufoss) Waterfall, Sun Voyager Statue, Hallgrimskirkja, Reykjavik, Öxarárfoss Thingvellir (Þingvellir) National Park, Skogafoss Waterfall, Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach, Svartifoss Waterfall, Jökulsárlón Lagoon
Los Angeles
The city of stars, La-La-Land, or simply Los Angeles, is also another hotspot favored by newlyweds. Home to many movie stars, Instagrammers and more, this city is more photogenic than most. If you are a movie or drama fan, you might be able to find the same spots to shoot your pre-wedding photo - how crazy is that?
Popular photo spots you might want to consider:
Griffith Observatory (La-la-land fans anyone?), Venice Beach Skate Park, Wayfarers Chapel, Melrose Street Murals, Under Santa Monica Pier, “Urban Lights” at LACMA, The Sunset Pacific Motel, The Last Bookstore (a definite hit for bookworms) and more
Santorini
We will always have a soft spot for Santorini as that's where our founder went for her honeymoon and fell in love with this beautiful caldera town. Photographers will tell you Santorini is a perfect pre-wedding shoot destination because it has a great variety of different backdrops - from the Caldera, cliffs, beaches of different colored sands, deep blue skies and pops of color along alleyways overlooking the Aegean sea.
Popular photo spots you might want to consider:
Skaros Rock, Byzantine Castle Ruins, Paradisos, Red Beach, Vlychada Beach, Agios Nikolaos, Pyrgos Kallistis, Cape Columbo, Kamari Beach, Ancient Thira, Fira town
Seoul
Seoul is a city our founder has traveled way too many times than she should, and will always hold a special place in our hearts. There is more to this city than the k-dramas, shopping and Myeongdong - there is so many photogenic spots that would make pre-wedding shoot backdrops with character. From the bustling neon lit-night markets, the stark & minimalist architecture of the DDP, abandoned amusement parks and more...
Popular photo spots you might want to consider:
Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP), Gyeongbokgung Palace, Bukchon Hanok Village, StyleNanda Pink Pool Café – Pink Hotel, Common Ground, Starfield Library, Yongma Land
Sydney
Sydney is definitely not the most photogenic city in the Australian continent, but it's on this spot mainly because of the sand dunes near the city which are some of the most gorgeous backdrops for wedding shoots. It's tough climbing up and walking around on the dunes, but the pictures are incredible and totally worth it. Drop by Sydney and take a trip out of the city for a wonderful experience.
Popular photo spots you might want to consider:
Sydney Opera house, Mrs Macquarie's point, Hickson road reserve, Luna park, Newton Murals, Bondi Beach Pools, Cronulla Sand Dunes, Stockton Sand Dunes
