Why We Photograph? An Ode to Remembering.

What is it about a moment that moves you enough to capture it?

From small moments in our daily life where we capture candid shots, just because we want to preserve that uninhibited and genuine smile in that very moment, to the big moments of special milestones where we document the day to ensure that moment becomes part of our legacy and memory.

We believe the essence of photographs is to help people remember. Be it remembering things they have accomplished in the past, places they have traveled and most importantly people important to their lives.

Photographs transcend time, mortality and memory to help us remember. They keep moments frozen in time so that they can pass on from one person to the next, one generation to the other.

Remember looking at the faded out photographs and photo albums of your parents or grandparents? These physical keepsakes help us (the next generation and beyond) to hold on to memories of our loved ones just a little longer. They are exciting universal visuals aids for the stories they regale us with of their colorful past. Photographs transport us to a time and place we have never been, but can imagine with the help of these memory extensions. They are the constant in this world that moves too fast and reminder of all the moments worth re-living and celebrating.

In this modern day and age, we take hundreds, if not thousands of digital photos every month. While technology has been advancing over the past few decades, it has also compromised many digital memories simply because the technology they have been stored on has become obsolete or hard to access (remember floppy disks, DVDs and CDs?). While it is incredibly important to have a digital backup of one’s photos, many never get around to it.

Print is a medium we strongly believe in, for those special photographs you know will help you remember. So go the last mile by converting the most important moments of your digital memories into physical keepsakes and keep them close by in your home and work spaces.

Your parents will never look the same way they do today on their anniversary, your kid will only be one year old once, and you will never look so beautiful in your wedding attire again with your partner by your side. A photograph can immortalize that very moment, and a physical keepsake ensures that these beautiful memories do not end up lost in the cloud of data and instead remain close to your heart where they belong.
